The purpose of the Ethnic Studies Collection is to provide a casual reading area where undergraduates can locate magazine, newpapers, books, and DVDs about African Americans, American Indians, Chicanos/Latinos, and Asian Americans. The collection serves as a portal to cultural enrichment resources that include both contemporary issues and historical topic areas.
Students may expand their cultural horizons by finding materials which cover civil rights, bilingualism, labor, social issues, borderlands, biographies, multi-cultural education, history, treaty rights, interracial marriage, immigration, sports, literature, and art. To learn more about the history of the collection and what the collection contains, see the collection development policy.
The collection is in Room 1193, which is located on the west side of the first floor at College Library.
